It messes with your MIND

The other day, I decided that instead of buying a new phone that I would actually sit down and figure out ALL of the features on my Blackberry Tour, which I’ve had for about a year. The phone is advanced in some ways, but the Blackberry App store definitely leaves something to be desired, so I usually just avoid it and use my phone to actually make calls (Go figure!) and of course text the man-formally-kn0wn-as-Yankee and Pooh.

Being the multi-tasker that I am, I decided to figure out this Blackberry thing during the morning news one day. And I found a game that took control of my life for TWO days. It’s called The River Test, and it’s designed to make you think which is something I always look forward to in a game. After I mastered it the first time, I played it again several times just to test my theory and logic. It got me.

The story goes that it’s a test that the Japense use to test the logic of their employees. I took a picture of a copy of the game that you can play on the Internet:

Yes, that’s my work computer. Yes, I do have left and right stickers. It makes identifying people in photos so much easier!  You don’t have to think – which is left?  Which is right?  It works perfectly…. until someone switches your sticky notes that is…. Ha ha, silly coworkers.

Anyway. The game starts with eight people on one side of the river. The rules are: the daughters can’t be left with the father without the mother. The sons can’t be left alone with the mother without the father being there. The suspect can’t be with anyone without the officer. And you have to get them all across the river. Only the officer, mother and father can steer the raft.

It messes with your mind, but let me tell you, when I figured it out, I jumped and screamed and did the happy dance. I am a genius!

Anyway, I wanted to pass it along to you. Try your hand. Test your logic skills. When you figure it out, it’ll make you smile, but let me warn you…. you may or may not want to scream at it and call it dirty names before you do. That may or may not have happened to me. I’m not willing to admit it…
